As you have probably noticed by now I have a love affair with ice cream, don't worry Dave knows. I like to find the newest ice cream shops on the west coast and try them out, you know just to taste them and let people know if they're good or not. Well this summer I had read about this new artisanal gelato shop that had popped up in Nanaimo. Don't be offended when I say Nanaimo isn't really my first choices of places to visit. However, during the period we were living in Ucluelet we did drive through it quite often to either catch the ferry or do a giant grocery shop. I never made it to Cold Front Gelato though until the August long weekend. We were driving up to Campbell River to spend the weekend with Dave's family for a mini reunion and we weren't going to arrive till the evening so there really was no rush. So we ended up breaking up the drive by stopping for pizza at Prima Strada in Mill Bay, which is always delicious, followed by gelato at Cold Front Gelato in Nanaimo. Dave didn't want any but I made sure to not eat too much pizza so I could fit it in my belly.
I was very glad that I did save some space for their gelato because it did not disappoint! I chose to get two scoops, Honey Lavender and London Fog. Dave was not into either of the flavours but that was fine because more for me! It was probably the best ice cream I have ever had in Canada. I know that is saying a lot but it was. The way that it was made with the interesting flavour combinations made it perfect. It was creamy like real Italian gelato and I love gelato. When I am in Sicily I make sure to eat it every day. That might sound like a lot to some of you but hey what can I say, I'm Sicilian. I definitely plan to go back to this spot next time I'm in Nanaimo but for now if any of you find yourself there you have to visit! It is absolutely divine!
While I was in London I bought these wide leg, cropped white jeans from River Island and I absolutely love them. You've seen them in a post before with a white knit tank but they go with everything and I find myself reaching for them more and more. I recently purchase this beautiful blue blouse from Topshop while visiting Vancouver with my sis and I love it! It's a bit of a loser fit which I love because it looks great tucked into jeans. I could definitely see myself wearing it at an office too, when that day comes, if it comes! But for now I'm wearing it with all types of denim and matching the tortoise shell buttons to my tortoise shell earrings by Machete. I love the tortoise shell trend in jewelry right now almost as much as I love the basket bag trend. I thought this cute basket bag from Mark by Avon went with the very summery colours of my outfit and would go well in an ice cream based photo shoot. Yes I went that far to plan my bag according to my food choice. It's a really small bag but I like how different it is with the pink and gold decorating it. I can't promise this will be my last ice cream themed shoot, hope you're all craving a cone now!
