It's Tuesday but it feels like Monday, you know those kinds of days? I don't think I can drink enough caffeine at the minute to keep me going to be honest. It's been such a busy few weeks leading up to my sister going back to Thailand I haven't really had a moment to breathe. My sister left on Sunday night to go back to Thailand, where her and her husband are living at the moment. It was so great having her home for 6 weeks this summer. How it's already over I can't quite understand. It's so funny being an adult sometimes, well most of the time. My sister and I were inseparable when we were kids, best of friends. We still are super close but we haven't lived in the same city since she finished high school, which is 10 years now. I miss her all the time but when we're away from each other you sort of get used to it. I text her all day, even though she's asleep and then she texts me all day but I'm asleep (stupid time difference.) But this time since she was home for so long, the longest in awhile, it felt like she wasn't going back. It was very hard to say goodbye on Sunday and I think I'm still feeling the affects of it.
Ok that's enough mushiness over here (sorry to my mum who probably read this and started to tear up.) While my sister was here though we managed to eat a lot of delicious food. While we were in Vancouver for a quick girls trip we headed to Yaletown to try Mister Artisan Ice Cream. It was delicious! I had a Matcha Ice Cream Cone, I LOVE everything Matcha flavoured so I couldn't say no when I saw it on the menu. But my sister and her friend went big. They got the signature Ice Cream Sandwich S'more. You're probably wondering what that entails, right? Well I'll tell you! It was an ice cream sandwich with chocolate ice cream in the centre, graham crackers on the outside that were dipped in chocolate, then that was covered in marshmallow and blow torched to give the effect of a s'more. I obviously had to have a taste and it was unbelievable! The best part was, my sister and Caroline couldn't decide between getting a half size or a full size. They asked the people at the ice cream shop how big the full size was, so she showed them a photo. It didn't look that big, but when they got it they quickly realized it was massive. I think they managed to eat most of it but both of them couldn't finish it. I couldn't even finish my cone, which began melting uncontrollably the second I got it. It was a sight!
It was such a fun experience and the perfect way to catch up with T's friend. We sat in a park in Yaletown until it got dark and we filled up on ice cream. I love dressing up when I go to Vancouver, especially after living in Ucluelet for the past year and a half. For ice cream I wore a white blouse I got in Spain from Zara with my favourite pair of black jeans from Topshop. I regretted wearing the jeans immediately though because it was such a hot night in Vancouver! I wanted to take a simple blouse and jeans outfit up a notch though so I asked to borrow my sister's cute polka dot headband. She purchased it in Thailand and had sent me photos of her wearing it there. I loved it and she gave it to me, which I am so excited about because I'm already thinking of all the ways I can wear it! Thank you T for the headband and stuffing your face with ice cream for me and the photo shoot, miss you already!
