Spring is such a fun time for painting nails. If you are anything like me, you look forward to the seasons changing so you can change your nail colour. For winter I always seem to fall into the sort of black, grey, navy and sometimes red or metallic (for festive occasions.) However, once March hits, it is time to pull out those pastel hues again and believe me, I did just that! For Easter weekend I chose to paint my nails an assortment of pastel colours. Perhaps this may look a little tacky or child-like to some but if you do it well and properly I think it can look quite beautiful. I chose some more muted and lighter tones to balance out the brightness of some, making it complement each other even better. I guess you could say I was inspired by the colours of Easter eggs, specifically of my favourite Easter treat, Mini Eggs!
These were the colours I chose in the order I painted them on my nails. Starting with nude on my thumb and ending with violet on my pinky. I feel like they not only matched the Easter treats I got from my Easter egg hunt Sunday morning but brightened up every outfit I wore that week. When I give myself an at home manicure I prep my nails first, cutting them all to the same length and filing them too. I also remove any hangnails and push my cuticles down to make sure the nails look professional. I follow that with two coats of colour and then a top coat. If I don't use a top coat there really is no point of painting my nails since I am constantly using my hands from day to day and my nails chip quite easily. Which nail colour is your favourite? Or are you like me and can't choose just one?
