I love walking the streets of Downtown Victoria and finding different alleyways to explore. While we were home a few weekends ago, Dave and I had brunch at our favourite spot: Northern Quarter. It was so nice to not rush and just have a relaxing, breakfast date together. Sometimes we forget how important it is to slow down, especially when we visit Victoria. There are always so many things to do, people to see and errands to run. But this time while we were at home we took our time, enjoying walking around downtown after brunch or sitting and eating ice cream at Cold Comfort.
A silk blouse is so timeless and I love how it makes an outfit look so chic, no matter what you wear it with. This leopard print blouse from Topshop has a vintage feel to it. It is a little oversized but also cropped so it looks great tucked into jeans like I wore here. It could easily be dressed up and worn under a blazer to wear to a creative work environment. However, even though it feels vintage it still feels modern too. I decided to wear it to brunch to dress up a bit (I always like to bring my best outfits to Victoria when I'm visiting.)
I recently bought these straight leg black jeans from Topshop. I have found myself veering away from the skinny jean and leaning more towards a straight leg or mom jean. The look of them feels a little more on trend than skinny jeans but they are also so comfortable and can be worn with anything. I definitely want to get a cute belt to wear with them though as they can look a little loose. Once I get to Europe I think that will be the perfect time to find a unique belt that will take this outfit up one more notch. I love the basket bag trend and will be wearing this one my sister gave me all through Spring, Summer and into Fall. It feels fresh and looks great with just about any outfit, including this one! The final touch to this outfit was my favourite earrings my best friend in Toronto made for me. She gave them to me for Christmas/my birthday and I absolutely adore them. I find myself reaching for them more than any other earring I've owned and that's saying something, since I rarely remember to put earrings in. They are so small and dainty but they always elevate an outfit and make me feel more stylish. I can't wait to see what creations she comes up with next!
