After last weekend's freak snow storm in Ucluelet and Tofino, I could not be happier to see some Spring temperatures around the corner. However, this past weekend, when we finally made it to Sasquatch mountain, the snow was a welcome sight. It was one of my good girlfriends bachelor(ette) party. If you're not familiar with a bachelor(ette) it's a combined bachelor and bachelorette party, really just a pre-party to the wedding. It was great fun! We were able to meet a lot of the people who we didn't know and will be at the wedding. We had girl time separate from the guys but all and all we spent most of our time all together. Emily and Shaun organized it wonderfully, we had three houses rented out and almost 30 people celebrating! We cooked all our meals, which is a feat for that many hungry mouths, but it worked!
As we arrived in the evening on Friday we didn't do much but have dinner and drinks (some sang karaoke.) Then Saturday morning I made waffles for everyone before we all split up to do our own things. Me and a couple girls decided a day of snow shoeing would be good fun and it was a nice day out too. We rented snow shoes and got ready to set out on our adventure. There ended up being a good group of us and we met up with a a few more people from the weekend too. We ended up doing over 7km in the end and walking for over 2.5 hours. Needless to say we were very tired, sweaty and hungry after that kind of hike. Snow shoeing is quite the workout! I'm glad we got to do some type of activity while we were up there. Hopefully the last weekend I see of snow until next winter!
