I feel like I have been coming down with a cold for the past two or three weeks but just don’t have the time to let myself get sick. Does this ever happen to you or do I sound crazy? Life has been really hectic lately, we moved last weekend and I’m sure you all know how fun that can be. We are somewhat unpacked, at least our bathroom and bedroom are almost there. Our kitchen and living area are definitely not there yet and there are still boxes throughout the house. I find it hard to find the time and motivation to get to them after work so I think they will have to stay there until the weekend when we have more time to dedicate to them. I am really looking forward to decorating though, that is always the best part about moving. I love doing a gallery wall in either our bedroom or our living room, I’ll share it once it is up!
I can’t believe we are almost at the end of November, it’s less than three weeks until our trip and I have a very long list of things happening before then. I like being busy but it is starting to feel a tad overwhelming and stressful. I feel like there aren’t enough weekends to see everyone before Christmas! But that’s life and luckily my birthday is a few weeks after Christmas so I can always see them then! We have some fun Christmas things coming up though that I’m looking forward to, The Nutcracker with a friend, Christmas tree decorating with a group of friends in their new house, the Oak Bay Light Up and Jon & Roy’s Christmas Show, just to name a few! I’m also planning on baking up a Christmas storm in between all those events. I feel like giving homemade gifts this year like my baking and macrame pieces because like me I feel like we can get caught up in the consumerism of Christmas and we all have too much stuff.
A few weeks ago Dave and I went out for a nice coffee date at The Parsonage Cafe since we hadn’t tried it out yet. On our way we drove through the uplands to look at all the gorgeous leaves on the trees, I love it when the colours change. It was a cold day so I thought I would bundle up with one of my ponchos. I’ve had this poncho from Mark by Avon for a few years now and I always love reaching for it when it’s a cool one outside. I wore it over one of my basic and go to turtlenecks, skinny jeans and my over-the-knee boots I love! The look was perfect for running errands and making time for a coffee date, all the while staying warm on a cold, fall day!
