Looking back at these photos I can hardly believe just how warm and sunny it was in October, especially compared to the rainy start to November we have had. It is so funny how we can always talk about weather, whether we are complaining about it or not, it’s not like we can change it. I feel like we always talk about how fast time goes too and not to emphasize it even more, but I really can’t believe it is November! The days are about to get shorter with the time change this weekend and I have started my early shifts working as a baker at my new job, so needless to say I am feeling very tired this weekend. I am loving every moment of the job though, I never thought I could do my hobby/passion as a job and I am so happy I took that plunge.
I know we should savour our time and not constantly look to the future for exciting moments to come, something I am trying to work on at the moment. However, saying that, my countdown for Europe finally feels real because in 6 weeks we will be in London! I love Europe, I have been going since I was just 8 months old and both my Italian family and my brother-in-law’s family all live in and around the London area. Dave and I will be in London for 5 days before we fly to Dublin. I am so excited to be in two cities that I really enjoy going back to visit and rediscovering each and every time. I have already made so many plans for London, we will be going to an Impressionist exhibition at the National Gallery, skating at Somerset House, going for afternoon tea and of course shopping, plus lots of big Italian meals. I think why I am most excited though is because my sister and her husband will be in London at the same time and same with my parents! So it will really feel like Christmas! If you have any London or Dublin suggestions please pass them on, I am always excited to look for new spots in both cities!
These photos were taken a few weeks back when Dave and I visited Crust Bakery on Fort Street. If you have never been you should definitely go, as soon as possible. They have such a beautiful selection of pastries and I love the simplicity of the space. I have definitely been taking ideas from all the cafes and bakeries around town for, fingers crossed, owning my own bakery one day. It was such a nice day so I decided I would take advantage of not having to wear a coat and wore my favourite cropped sweater from Topshop with my new pleated midi skirt from Mark by Avon. I love the colours of it and it goes so well with my burgundy Chelsea boots from Topshop (they are looking a little scuffed up from wearing them so much!) I think I probably wear this sweater more than anything in my closet because it goes with everything! I am so glad I bought it because I love having a basic that I know will look good when I reach for it in my closet. I have already started my wish list for shopping in London and Dublin and at the top of my list is one of those Teddy coats in brown. What are you shopping for this winter?
