A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to go to the first night of Tofino Food and Wine Festival at The Schooner Restaurant in Tofino. We had friends visiting so we all met at the restaurant for an outdoor event. The event had numerous mixologists making a signature cocktail for the night, as well as spirit, wine and beer tastings. There wasn't only alcohol though, The Schooner Restaurant provided tapas all night long and they were absolutely delicious and went perfectly with the drinks. Our favourite drink of the night was the "Seaside Sorrel" by the mixologist Chuck L'Ecuyer from Wolf in the Fog. Although this cocktail took a bit longer to make, the mixologist was very knowledgeable and explained each and every ingredient in the cocktail. The drink was perfectly refreshing and if I had had the chance to go back for another I would have! However, for the rest of the evening he had a line up for people waiting for his delicious drinks.
