This past weekend was crazy busy with family and friends visiting, exploring Tofino and an interview (soon to come!) We had a great time but I feel like I have been catching up on chores, writing and sleep since the weekend and it's Wednesday. Sometimes you just have to slow down. Even though we didn't have the longest time to sit and enjoy the view, I'm glad I brought my cousin and her boyfriend on this little hike so they could enjoy it for themselves too. I love living here on the West Coast especially now that it's the summer and we have visitors to explore our beautiful town.
This hike is unmarked (there seems to be a pattern here.) However, it is well walked through and we saw many people on both the way up and down. It's a little tricky to find at first, but once you've found it you can go back over and over again. If you park at the parking lot on Maltby Rd that takes you to Cox Bay that's the closest point to the hike, however, if you are staying at one of the hotels you can go from any point on the beach. If you're facing the ocean the hike is on your left where Cox Bay ends and turns into a point. Once you reach the rocks they'll be a section that opens up and you can climb on up. From there just follow all the footprints, it gets muddy so be prepared. Keep on trekking up, it probably takes about 20 minutes up and you'll know when you've reached the top because of the amazing view. Take it all in and enjoy the view of the gorgeous coastline of Tofino before heading back down. Add it to your list of things to do next time you're on the West Coast, it's definitely worth it!
