This past weekend we were in Vancouver celebrating Dave's birthday and Mother's Day. After a day of shopping, a delicious sushi dinner, seeing Mumford & Sons and U2 at BC Place and surprise birthday drinks for Dave, we needed some serious rest and relaxation. After a delicious brunch at Chambar, me, my mum, cousin and sister in law headed to The Ten Spot in Yaletown for pedicures. I had been to The Ten Spot in Toronto when I used to live there but never to this location and I loved it. The decor is minimal and modern with a trendy neon sign that read: Get Nailed. When we arrived we chose our nail colours and had a seat on the bench above our own mini foot tubs. We had the place to ourselves, which made the experience even better and more relaxing.
We all chose the pedi which included a soak, nail shaping and buffing and full cuticle work. After this we were treated to buffing the bottoms of our feet, which everyone always needs (me especially!) Next came the best part, the scrub and massage. The aestheticians used a sugar scrub they make in house with all natural products. It came in three different flavours: eau natural, grapefruit and spiced pear. I took a spiced pear home with me and bought my mum the grapefruit one because they weren't like any other scrub. They left your skin feeling smoothed and moisturized without that greasy feeling most scrubs leave behind and the scents were almost so good you could eat them! Finally came the polish. I chose a beautiful coral colour to compliment my bridesmaid dress that I will be wearing this weekend for my best friends wedding. Next time you find yourself in Vancouver and in need of a spa treatment, head over to The Ten Spot for a relaxing and enjoyable time!
