This past weekend was my last weekend in Victoria. I had lots to do, people to see and brunch to eat. My friend suggested we go to The Estevan Village for brunch and it was a great idea. I hadn't been to this restaurant in a long time and it was in the neighbourhood I grew up in. We were able to get out of the rain and enjoy our bennys over tea. Elyse had a 'Just Benny,' which is just that: poached eggs and hollandaise. After trying to decide what to have, Elyse convinced me that the benny was the way to go and I opted for a 'West Coast Benny,' which consisted of wild pacific smoked salmon, baby spinach, fresh dill and hollandaise. The bennys can be done on either your choice of a mount royal bagel or their signature gluten free house made latkes, which we both chose and were not disappointed by. Next time you want to try a new brunch spot, try The Village, at Estevan, Shelbourne or Royal Oak.
