Well it is December 4th, which means two things, I am happily eating away at my Rogers Chocolate advent calendar and we leave for our trip in 10 days! It’s that funny time of year when you look back and reflect on everything that happened in 2018. It was both a good and bad year, but you have to take the good with the bad right? We celebrated the New Year in Thailand, which was simply put: unreal! Followed by my 30th birthday celebrating with friends, family and a trip to Portland, which was amazing. We also spent half the year living in Ucluelet, which I loved and it was really hard to say goodbye to our home and friends. However, we were also happy to come back to Victoria, to my family and our friends here.
The change of moving back to Victoria was easy for Dave but proved a little more difficult for me. Saying that though I feel like it forced me to look at my life and see what needed to change. I found a new job that I love and I am so happy in it and without the hard parts of the end of this year I don’t think I would have found it. The past few months I have spent a lot of time with family and I’m really glad I was back in Victoria for them. 2019 is just around the corner and I think I am happy to say goodbye to 2018 and I’m excited to see what the new year brings! While we are away on holiday and I have some time to relax, I am going to work on writing down some goals for 2019. I try not to call them resolutions because of the negativity that is often associated with them. I already know that I want to sign up for some races next year to get back into running. However, other then that I am not sure yet. I will definitely share them on the blog once I am back from my trip.
These photos are from a few weeks ago when we had brunch for my cousin’s birthday at Northern Quarter. While we were hunting for a parking space we drove past this beautifully painted wall and I thought it would be the perfect spot to take some photos of my outfit. I was feeling a little more casual and wanted to show off my pink sneakers, that I love, so I wore them with denim overalls, a simple long sleeve and my vintage Levi’s denim jacket over top for some warmth. Although more often than not I am wearing booties, I do love wearing a pair of sneakers with an outfit for a more casual vibe. When I saw these at the Bay I had to try them on because of their colour! They are such a gorgeous pink, I had to add them to my shoe collection of course! It was the perfect Sunday brunch look.
